Godwin Aigbogun, the All Progressives Congress chairman who was kidnapped in Edo State’s Ward 9 of Orhionmwon Local Government, is now free.
Aigbogun was reported to have fled the kidnappers’ lair on Monday night after being kidnapped while returning to his community from his farm in Ologbo-nugu.
According to reports, the kidnappers, who are thought to be Fulani herders, wanted N5 million in ransom from his family.
On Wednesday morning, Barrister Peter Uwadiae, the state publicity secretary, verified his escape and stated he has now reunited with his family.
“I can attest to the fact that he has fled from the captors’ lair. I have no idea how he managed to do that, but I must applaud him for his boldness. The state’s APC family is delighted by this. He has now joined the family, according to PUNCH.
